Announcing the President of Jury and some of ‘the key movies’ to be screened on the opening and closing of the festival



The Festival organisers Rosana Golden and Dean Bentley are honoured to announce the Angel Film Awards president of jury will be the Eritrean/Italian actress and producer Zeudi Araya Cristaldi - wife of Franco Cristaldi multi awards winning producer – who produced the Oscar winning best foreign languish film “Cinema Paradiso” awared the David di Donatello Award for Best Producer – for the film “The Name of the Rose” (starring Sean Connery – Christian Slater).

Zeudi Araya Cristaldi keeping the heritage of her late husband alive devoting herself to the restoration and preservation of her huge Library of the most important classic movies of Italian Cinema history, now distributed in Italy and abroad.

The entire festival line up consists of 16 premiere films and 10 screenplay nominees from around the globe, shortlisted for the Angel Film Awards.
Numerous important film industry guest form all over the globe and film cast and crew members of all official films will  be attending the festival –  the opening press call taking place in Monaco on Thursday December 4 – at 13:30 (1:30pm).

The gala opening evening screenings on Thursday December 4 - in official selection World premiere - epic opera style feature film from China  “A DREAM OF RED MANSIONS” (A.K.A. Dream of the Red Chamber)’- directed by Gong Yingtian - Based on the mid-eighteenth century novel by Cao Xueqin, movie tells the story of changing fortunes of the Jia Family, focusing on the tragic love of Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu. Against such worldly elements as death, financial ruin, marriage, decadence and corruption..

Another key movie at the gala evening opening will be the European Premiere short film “I KNOW YOU” (UK) written, directed, produced by Colin Gerrard – story line: ‘Sometimes it doesn’t matter who you are, it’s who they think you are.

The 2nd day of the festival Friday December 5 - the World premiere short documentary film "THE OWEN HART FOUNDATION: A LOOK BACK" (Canada), directed by Dr. Martha Hart, Ph.D. -   After losing her beloved husband to a shocking and negligent death, Martha Hart, widow of globally recognized wrestler Owen Hart turns tragedy into triumph by helping others through the Owen Hart Foundation.

The other closing ceremony screenings official selection on Saturday December 6 features the World premiere short film “Ilona and the Forest” (Switzerland) written and directed by Ferenc Rákóczy – story line: Ilona, a young single mother, becomes seriously ill. Night after night, she dreams that she wanders deep inside the forest in search of her children.

In official selection another key film – world premiere - short film “IMPHAL 1944” (Japan/UK) Written, Directed, Produced by Junichi Kajioka - a story about
“Reconciliation and Peace” – inspired by a true story - in memory of the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Imphal.
